Commuter Benefits
Full-time employees (FTE) can participate in a pre-tax program for mass transportation and parking expenses, reducing your taxable income while saving on your daily commute.
How It Works
- Elections are made via Health Equity by the 4th of every month
- Election amounts are deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis, reducing your taxable income
- Funds become available the following month (e.g., elections made by September 4th are available October 1st)
- Funds are available via the Health Equity Commuter Benefits debit card
Enrollment: Commuter benefits are available starting Day 1 of employment. No waiting period required.
Program Details
Debit Card
Participants receive a debit card for eligible transportation expenses, usable in-person, at kiosks, or online.
Mass Transit + Parking
Funds can be used on most public transportation and parking. Carpool services (Lyft, Via, Uber) are also covered. You can participate in either or both programs.
Rollover
Unused funds rollover month-to-month and do not expire. Once rolled over, transit and parking funds combine into a single pool.
